From the Desk of Deacon Jim

Deacon James Gordon Bodine is a native Alabamian.
He was born and reared in Marshall County.
He has been married to Ruth Marie French Bodine of Haverhill, MA for 34 years and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
Deacon Jim is a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Navy.
After military service he received his BS degree from Jacksonville State University.
Deacon Jim is a convert to the Catholic Faith.
He received the Sacraments of Initiation during the Easter Vigil at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Anniston, Alabama in 1980.
He attended Diaconate Formation for the Diocese of Birmingham at St Bernard Abbey, Cullman, Alabama and was Ordained in December 2000.
Deacon Jim has recently joined the Parish Staff at St Mary of the Visitation after retiring from Federal Service in June of 2005.
