Song is an important part of prayer, and a vital aspect of our worship celebrations. Each weekend Mass has a different musical “tone”.
At the Saturday 5:30 Mass, a Cantor or Song Leader leads the assembly. The role of the cantor is not to be a soloist, but rather to help the congregation know when to join together in singing out.

The Gospel Alleluia is never to be spoken? If the Alleluia and
verse are not to be sung, they should be omitted.
Sometimes referred to as the Contemporary Choir, sometimes referred to as the Folk Choir, but always recognized as the 8:00 Choir, this group enhances our parish's worship services with music. The choir is available for other services upon request. Practice is usually on Wednesday nights at 7:00 at the church.
Although some traditional favorites are included in the repertoire, this choir tends to choose mostly contemporary songs from the Glory and Praise music publications. This music lends itself to guitar and piano and can easily accommodate bass guitar, flute, and other instruments.
Come to the 11:00 o’clock Mass to hear our magnificent organ. Repertoire for this choir includes more selections from the
Missalette, supplemented with pieces from traditional composers during Meditation after Communion.
We are always looking for instrumentalists and singers at all levels of proficiency. Anyone interested in joining any part of the music ministry may contact the office.
