In the spring of 1998, Bishop Foley called for each parish to establish a Vocation Committee. Our parish answered this call and established the following mission statement:
"St. Mary of the Visitation’s Vocation Committee will strive to create an atmosphere of vocation awareness in our parish community. Only God can create a vocation, but we will foster the development of vocations to ordained and religious life and lay ministry by making our parish more ‘vocation conscious.’ Through prayer, education, cooperation with our parish ministers, witness, and special programs, we will help lead the parish’s efforts to make everyone more
aware of God’s call to loving service and to provide the support and encouragement to answer that call."
Within Huntsville, those contemplating a vocation can witness in action diocesan priests and members of the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians). The Salvatorians have priests, brothers, sisters, and committed lay people serving the community.
